I
just got back from a Run at MacRitche Reserviour. My Mum and Dad wanted to go somewhere nice for a walk and i wanted to run so we headed down. It's a really nice spot and lots of Singaporeans Go there for to Run, exercise and just enjoy nature. Anyways, I did a 5km run along a Lornie Trail and as i ran, i saw lots of other fellow runners of all ages. some as young as 5-6 years old running with their dad and mum, Some couples, some with Dogs, some aunties, but the one that struck me most was this Old man.
...Sometimes, we just have to make that extra effort to wake up early, climb that hill and feel the beauty of another day...
He must have been at least 50+, With White hair, wrinkles and sagging cheeks. But he was in running attire and he was Running (slowly, but running). He obviously was straining, His Hand holding his waist, his breath panting. But he was carrying on, Never quitting. Wow....He passed the people walking, went up hill, No problem. kept going.
I just felt sooo blessed to be a good shape and health, to have my youth. To be able to run without having aches and pains, this is God's Blessing for youths man! =) If an Old man can keep running inspite of his age, What more I can do at mine! Yeah~ Feel so inspired and ThankFul! Ok! next week, I'll go back to MacRitche and go for the 11km trail!
Btw, There are some really nice places that you get to see when you're in the SAF, Places which you never realized existed in Singapore. Below is a shot of Sunrise I took from one of the hills in an SAF training Ground. Nice right? haha, my guy's were preparing for living firing.

Sometimes, we just have to make that extra effort to wake up early, climb that hill and feel the beauty of another day. Unfortunately for some, the SAF forces you to do that whether they like it or not. Well, at least i chose to like it ;)
